Kowloon Mecca

mosque-sm.jpg

The Kowloon Mosque, shot in March of this year. The building is new, built on the site of another mosque in 1984. Muslim architecture in the heart of Kowloon may seem strange to some, but that’s Hong Kong.

I’m going to Hong Kong, or I plan to, this week. It will be a much needed break, and a one-day holiday. I have been to this mecca for foreigners residing on the mainland three times in two-and-half years. I know some who go three times a month.

I don’t hate Hong Kong as much as I used to. That’s not to say that I like it. There are many scenes I wish to capture in the SAR. If I focus on my camera perhaps I can overlook the HK weasels and their delusions of grandeur.
