I&#039;ve lived a long distance away from my family (the one I grew up with) for many years.  Sometimes it&#039;s a blessing (I&#039;m not involved in the daily drama).  Sometimes it&#039;s a curse (I don&#039;t even know what the daily drama is).  I have often thought that my sons as well as my husband and myself are missing out by not having the experience of extended family nearby.
