Big Bolivian Sunsets: Interview with Photographer Ron Dubin.
It’s been a busy week in the blogosphere, nearly as busy as real-life. I thought I’d share some good stuff found while perusing the intertubes.
Ron at rtd13.com has published a book of photographs from his Bolivian expedition. More info on this lovely tome will follow next week…
AOS at godlessromantic.com has some great dusk photographs posted. Definately worth a look.
Christine at almostfearless.com is giving away her American Airline miles. American Airlines Can Bite Me - The Contest (It’s not Philippine Airlines, vast difference) gives readers a chance to win a free airline ticket. Christine will pick up the tab for the hostel. You must subscribe to her RSS feed to qualify.
Nomadicmatt.com has a great guest post by Lola Akinmade, editor of Matador Goods. Her tretise on how to photographing people offers traveling shutterbugs great advice.
amuirin at stop; wander has veered away from her posts about muppet sex and posted a great article on Accidental Photograph.
Travelblissful has a great post on Photoshop plug-ins for black and white images. This a great resource and worth checking out.
Heathenly is a very popular gal - follow her employment saga. Wanda continues to write letters to Orlando Bloom, discussing his career, or lack thereof. Kathleen has kicked off her new blog, on her own domain, at technoearthmama.com. Give her some love.
Congrats to Jeff at Lives of Wander. He was awarded his PhD. Carrie from myseveralworlds.com has a new job to add to her CV: She will be an editor with Live ABC.
Need a laugh? ProTraveler has posted an article about the 10 most Outlandish Asian hotels.
For those I left out, I apologize. Peace out as I start 7 days off. Sort of.
It’s Friday morning in the Middle Kingdom. I’m off to Hong Kong to pick up my new axe.
I’ll be staying in palatial cheap basic accommodations. My last trip to HK saw me staying at the YMCA. I don’t know what reputation The Y has in other parts of the world, but in HK it’s bomb diggity.
I’ve found some cool new blogs this week (well, new to me) and wanted to share. Give these folks a read, they have something interesting to say.
I mentioned Christine at almostfearless.com earlier in the week. She has a great post about how to receive your mail, in a virtual sense, while overseas.
Julie at Collazo Projects has an interesting piece on flubbed journalistic endeavors and gives her commentary on the Ann Curry/Ingrid Betancourt interview.
Want to do cool, free stuff in Boston? World-traveler extraordinaire Nomadic Matt has the answers in a recent post.
Theresa and Jeff of Livesofwander.com are leaving for a year of world travel. They have some interesting posts and neat things to say. Their site offers readers a chance to vote on where the couple should go on their epic adventure.
Signing off for the weekend. Stay chilly, I’ll try to stay dry.

When you read this I will have already have been in Thailand several days. Fooled ya, didn’t I? Post-dated posting is as cool as posted dated cheques used to be.
I don’t know when, or even if, I will post after this. I would like a computer-free holiday, (other than downloading the thousands of photos I’m taking from camera to computer, and checking for emergency emails)
Let me recommend some great bloggers who can be read in my stead.
amuirin at stop; wander has a great post on trash television and the perpetuation of the beauty myth.
My so-called stalker, Pamplemousse, always has something interesting to say. Please give her some tips on improving her nuisance skills.
My comrades Heathenly and Wanda both entertain. Wanda is related to a Canadian organized crime figure, what a small world.
Café Philos, brainchild of well-read Paul Sunstone, has a great list of must-read blog posts.
Carrie at My Several Worlds celebrates her birthday, plans a wedding in Mexico, and discusses the evils of high heels.
Revenge of the Castanets, a different name for AOS, has a great post on the anti-smoking crusade and individual rights.
red Ravine is always inspirational. QuoinMonkey and ybonesy have the coolest monikers on the net.
RT at Untwisted Vortex always has something good to say, be it a blog review or WordPress advice. He’s definitely someone good to know.
There’s no need to recommend one post by Average Jane, I am amazed and envious with each one I read. No one should have such talent with words.
While The Stevo rebels against all things feline, he does like to read the musings of The Little Fluffy Cat. Perhaps he will become feline-friendly? (Maybe, when we storm the Internet Bastille and remove any traces of LOL Cats)
Take a look at Mr. Random of Vanity Press. We were discussing Star Trek characters as legal counsel.
Enjoy the shutterbuggery© of Ron and Robin (that sounds like a Holiday Inn Lounge act. Fitting since Ron has gotten musical with his posts of late.) Craig Ferguson deserves a look. He’s experimenting with flash and getting some interesting results.
If I missed you, I apologize. My plane leaves shortly and I’m charging for the airport.
Adios, for now. Kiss me, miss me.
The radar image was lifted from a tutorial by WebDesign.org Lot of good stuff there.
ps: I just read Oprah is starting a television network. This is a Masonic conspiracy or another sign of the coming apocalypse.
Yes, I’ve been a touch busy as of late. The school term is over, I’m worn out, and trying to plan a trip to Thailand. I don’t have a lot of time to ramble incessantly.
If you find yourself needing to read the deft prose of the stevo, please see his latest article at In The Know Traveler.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program.
Friends, Romans, fellow bloggers:
A great misfortune has befallen the Stevo. Somehow, he has been labeled by Askimet, WordPress’s spam filter, as spam. Yes, all my comments on WordPress.com are being stuffed into your overly ripe spam comment box. I don’t often post links to “farm animal sex girl” websites, I don’t understand why this occurred. The injustice! The horror!
I am told it will take a few days for my details to be removed from the Askimet database. The situation probably isn’t helped by the in-progress silly season. For the sake of the Stevo, give your spam comments a look. If I am listed please de-spam me. This will release from the Askimet cage of silence sooner.
