bowling for renminbi

Bowling in China - Will bowling for dollars be on television?

Sometimes I lament the progress China has made. An economic powerhouse? Yes. A quickly developing nation of 1.4 billion? Yes.

In need of alleys, ugly shoes, and the associated bowling paraphernalia? Probably not.

This looks like a shot I would have taken in high school, when I spent hours in the darkroom, falling in love with the noxious odor of developer and fixer. Thanks to Alien Skin Software and their Adobe Photoshop plug-in -  Exposure 2 – digital images can be given traditional film profile and grain.

Two important questions are raised in ths image Stevo.

What color are the shoes,it just might be the most important decision an infrequent bowler has to make?

And, was the spare picked up? ;)

    Don’t you just love Exposure?

  3. Ron: The bowler in question had a rather unorthodox style. He looked much like a whirling Dervish as he prepared to throw the ball. That said: No, he didn’t pick up the strike. The shoes weren’t hideous, I would have worn them home. Red and white, I think.

    Matt: Hail the plug-in.

  4. Theresa says:

Bowling may well be the bane of my existence. I think once upon a time I broke 100…I think. On Wii bowling, however, I am awesome. (And I don’t have to wear the stinky, weird shoes.)

I never took to bowling much. Love to play pool, golf but never bowling. I do like that you drink beer as you play. Every sport should involve beer!

  9. Theresa: I’ll have to try the Wii version.

Pan: He may have broke 50.

    M727: Don’t we all?

Wanda: I like all the leisure sports: Pool, curling, really anything involving beer.

  10. Coina says:

I can bowl but I look funny when I do. My ex used to really make fun of my bowling. But then again, he made fun of everything!

It looks like, as is almost always the case with bowling shoe rentals, he’s wearing different colored shoes.
