Once in a while you manage to capture something really cool. The storm swept in, out of nowhere. When the thunder started I grabbed my camera. I didn’t think I had much of chance of getting photo of lightening, it’s very hard to do. Miraculously, within the 400+ frames I shot was this one. There’s still some work to do in Photoshop, but I’m quite happy.

Why not set the exposure to +/- 30 seconds(or as high as possible without overexposing) and the aperture as high as possible so the building won’t get overexposed? Lightning is bright enough anyway to get captured whatever your settings are, and your chances get alot higher.
But hell, you really did have luck with that shot, looks nice!

Thanks Steefje.
A long exposure would be more sensible, but not nearly as fun. Will I get it? Won’t I? would be eliminated with a long exposure. The challenge is part of the excitement.

Man, that makes me want to scuffle around on carpet with socks on in the dark, touching doorknobs and such.
